Director of Music & Young Adult Ministry

Principal Function: The Director of Music & Young Adult Ministry is a dynamic, multi-faceted leadership role. This individual will lead the congregation in biblical worship, oversee all technical and digital communications for the church, and pioneer a vibrant ministry for young adults.

Job Classification: This position is a Full-Time position.

Working Relationship: Works under the supervision of the Senior Pastor and collaborates closely with other church staff and members.

Responsibilities:

• Music Leadership: Serve as the primary praise and worship leader for Sunday morning services, midweek gatherings, and special ministry events.

• Service Planning & Rehearsal: Collaborate with the Senior Pastor to design cohesive weekend services; plan and lead weekly instrumental and vocal rehearsals.

• Team Development: Recruit and train volunteer musicians, vocalists, and choir. 

• A/V/L Oversight: Manage all audio, visual, and lighting needs for services and events, including training and managing a reliable rotation of tech volunteers.

• Digital Presence & Social Media: Maintain and update the church website and manage social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram) to communicate events and build community.

• Equipment Maintenance: Manage the upkeep, repair, and future purchasing of A/V equipment, software, and musical instruments.

• Young Adult Vision & Strategy: Develop a roadmap for a new young adult ministry (ages 18–30), particularly focusing on local college students and young professionals.

• Community Building & Discipleship: Plan regular gatherings and Bible studies; provide pastoral care, mentorship, and recruitment of young adults to serve across the church.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.

Requirements:

The position of Director of Music & Young Adult Ministry requires:

• Spiritual Maturity: A clear testimony of faith and theological alignment with the church (affirming the Baptist Faith & Message).

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

• Experience: 3+ years of related experience preferred.

• Musical Proficiency: Strong vocal ability and instrumental proficiency for leading worship and ensembles.

• Technical Acumen: Proficiency with (or ability to learn) Planning Center, ProPresenter, Capcut, Google Workspace, and basic A/V technology.

• Leadership & Delegation: A proven track record of recruiting and retaining volunteers to build sustainable teams

• Personality Characteristics: A servant leader who is collaborative, creative, energetic, and a flexible team player.

• Passing comprehensive background screenings.
