It is a tremendous blessing and honor to celebrate what God has done through First Baptist Church over the last 150 years. We have been given the wonderful opportunity to bless Hillsboro, Hill County, and even the ends of the earth. God has used this church to proclaim the gospel and go on mission through being the hands and feet of Jesus. We have given back what God has so graciously given us for the cause of Christ to fund the mission of preaching the gospel near and far.
You are invited to be a part of this celebration as we commemorate this momentous occasion and look forward to the next 150 years. To God be the glory!

FBC History At a Glance
The first Baptist church in Hillsboro was organized by Rev. P. G. Booth in 1874 and was appropriately called First Baptist Church. The church has had three buildings in its 150 years. The first was a frame structure located behind the present All About Hair salon on Church Street. The second, built in 1905, was a much larger brick structure in Greek architectural style located on the corner of Franklin and Pleasant Streets. The final and current home for First Baptist Church has come in three phases. The Education Building was completed in 1951, the Sanctuary addition in 1963, and the gym and children’s preschool area in 2006.
Over the years, the church has had twenty-six pastors to lead them in their mission to spread the Gospel at home and abroad. The church has ministered to the local community though a multitude of projects and supported mission programs on the state, national, and international level. First Baptist Church Hillsboro is excited about reaching the people of her town and invites all to come join with them in giving glory to God.
